  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey

Method: Take one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of honey. Mix them well together and apply directly on the freckles. Let it sit for around 15 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water. Apply it once daily to get the best results of apple cider vinegar for freckles.


Buttermilk is a common beverage for any Indian household. You can not be an Indian and not have buttermilk stored in your refrigerator. It’s just not possible. Congratulations! There are more ways to use buttermilk than just having it after dinner. It has lactic acid which is a great exfoliant for your skin. It further helps reduce the freckles while leaving skin supple and soft like a baby’s cheeks.



  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp oatmeal

Method: You can apply buttermilk directly onto your skin. Leave it on for about 10-15 minutes and then wash off with warm water. You can also combine buttermilk with oatmeal and make a mask. It’s the best remedy for freckles.

Lemon Juice

Lemon is the most effective and easily accessible weapon to fight freckles. It’s rich in vitamin C and a powerhouse of antioxidants that controls skin’s melanin production and lightens the freckles. Lemon juice also has anti-pigmentary and photo-reactive properties that protect against harmful UV rays from the sun. It’s one of the most effective home remedies for freckles and pigmentation.

  • 1 tbsp honey

Method: Add a few drops of lemon drops in honey and mix well. Apply it on the affected area with a cotton pad. Let it sit for 15 minutes and rinse it off with cold water. Do this twice a week for the best results.


Turmeric is the miracle yellow ingredient that we are obsessed with. It has brilliant health benefits and can heal almost anything. Healing freckles with turmeric is a no-brainer.   • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp curd
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Method: Mix 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder with 2 teaspoons of curd and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix these to form a paste and apply directly on your freckles. Leave this on for 20 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water, and don’t forget to top it up with a moisturizer. 

Almond Oil

Full of vitamin E and A, almond oil is a holy grail for your skin. It’s an essential oil that nourishes and depigments the skin and directly targets those pesky freckles you wanna get rid of. Moreover, this tonic helps in softening and brightening the skin.

  • ½ tbsp almond oil

Method: Take a few drops of almond oil and apply it directly on the affected area with the help of your fingers. Massage it in and leave it on for about 1 hour or until the skin fully absorbs the oil and rinse it with lukewarm water. You can also keep the oil overnight on your face if you’re not someone with oily skin.
